Chatto is the Tasmanian Pinot Noir label of winemaker Jim Chatto and his wife Daisy. Jim moved to Tasmania in 1998 as the first winemaker at Rosevears Estate in the Tamar Valley, where he fell in love with Tasmanian Pinot Noir, and with Daisy.
When the couple moved to the Hunter Valley in 2000 they started the Chatto label to keep making Tasmanian Pinot. They later planted their own Isle Vineyard from scratch, with eight clones, and returned to live there full time in January 2017.
The estate wines include Intrigue and the single-vineyard Isle, introduced in 2014, and since 2019 Chatto has also made a Burgundy from a premier cru vineyard.
