Cherubino

Cherubino is the family wine business of Larry Cherubino and his wife Edwina, established in 2005. Larry had previously been head winemaker at Houghton and worked as a consultant designing vineyards and wineries around the world before building his own label, which has become one of Western Australia's most highly regarded.

The business grows its own grapes across Margaret River, Pemberton, Frankland River and the Great Southern, and sees the vineyard as the most important part of winemaking. Its wines are released in several ranges, from the top Cherubino label to single-vineyard Frankland River wines under The Yard, sub-regional Margaret River wines under Pedestal, and more experimental releases such as egg-fermented and minimal-intervention wines.

Rather than following a single certification such as organic or biodynamic, Cherubino takes the practices it rates from each approach, and it reports sequestering large amounts of carbon in its vineyards. Its cellar door, dining and guesthouses are in the Margaret River region.
