DOGROCK

Dogrock is a small, independent, off-grid vineyard and winery on the western edge of Victoria's Pyrenees, established by Allen and Andrea Hart in 1998. It sits in a horseshoe-shaped valley above Crowlands, framed on three sides by rocky ridges, whose varied slopes and aspects create distinct microclimates within a small area. The winery was rated five red stars by James Halliday's Wine Companion every year from 2016 to 2022.

Pyrenees classics Shiraz and Grenache grow alongside an eclectic collection of Mediterranean and Iberian varieties, including Tempranillo, Graciano, Touriga Nacional, Arinto and Azal. The wines are hand-harvested in small batches, with a simple philosophy: place first, variety second, and winemaking in service of both, favouring balance, texture and a clear sense of place.

Dogrock has now entered a new chapter under owners Brett Morcomb and Glen Whitefield, who handle everything from vineyard management to winemaking. They have enormous respect for what the Harts created and aim to care for what makes Dogrock distinctive, with Glen focusing on increasingly sustainable viticulture and vineyard health. The winery and cellar door open by appointment.
