Main & Cherry is a family-owned winery run by South Australian winemaker Michael Sexton. The original winery and vineyard are on Main Road at Cherry Gardens, in the rolling Adelaide foothills, where most wines are still made with a small basket press and traditional techniques.
Michael grew up tending the family vineyard, studied oenology at Adelaide University, and has more than twenty years of winemaking experience in Australia and overseas. He now lives with his family on his own vineyard above Clarendon in McLaren Vale, sourcing fruit from the original vineyard and selected sites across the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale.
In 2022 Main & Cherry opened an architecturally designed, family-friendly cellar door at Chandlers Hill, 30 minutes from Adelaide, with views over the vines and gum trees to Gulf St Vincent. Dogs on leads are welcome outside.
