Mayer is the small Yarra Valley farm and label of winemaker Timo Mayer, producing hand-crafted, single-vineyard wines. The philosophy is that wine is made in the vineyard, so intervention in the winery is kept to a minimum.
The wines are unfined and unfiltered, with Pinot Noir at their heart. Mayer has a distinctive approach to presentation too: the bottles carry no back labels or barcodes.
Timo Mayer is a well-known figure in the Yarra Valley, and his wines have a strong following among sommeliers and collectors.
