Yarra Yering

Yarra Yering, established in 1969, is recognised as one of Australia's most iconic vineyards. From 29 hectares of dry-grown vines in the Yarra Valley it makes wines renowned for their signature structure, understated power and long life, most famously its Dry Red Wine No.1, a Cabernet-based blend celebrated for combining perfumed lightness with depth, concentration and structure.

Winemaker Sarah Crowe joined Yarra Yering in late 2013. She began her career in 2001 in the vineyard at Brokenwood in the Hunter Valley, studied viticulture, and worked harvests from Oregon to the Rhône before arriving at Yarra Yering. She was named James Halliday Winemaker of the Year in 2017 and Gourmet Traveller Winemaker of the Year in 2021, and is known for her generosity to the wine community through the Len Evans Tutorial and as a respected judge.

The vineyard is managed by Andrew, a Yarra Valley local with more than 23 years of grape-growing experience, who studied at Dookie College, spent ten years at neighbouring Yeringberg and joined Yarra Yering in 2012. The team aims for wines of purity, elegance and the region's hallmark acidity, made to age for decades.
